Visit to State Museum & NRSC
APS Golconda Students' Enriching Study Tour to
NRSC and Telangana State Archaeology Museum
Hyderabad, August 28, 2024 – A study tour was organized for the Humanities students of Class 11 and 12 from APS Golconda to the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) and Telangana State Archaeology Museum. This educational excursion, attended by 29 students and three teachers—Mr. Sunu, Mr. Kamaraju, and Mrs. Anaswara—was designed to expand their understanding of space technology and cultural heritage.
The visit to NRSC began with a comprehensive presentation by a scientist, who detailed the history and achievements of ISRO, including Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, and future projects like Gaganyaan. Students were particularly engaged in learning about satellite applications in forest monitoring, disaster management, and military intelligence. An interactive session and demonstrations of satellite models and live tracking systems further enhanced their understanding of space science.
Following this, the students explored the Telangana State Archaeology Museum, where they viewed fascinating exhibits, including an Egyptian mummy, bronze artifacts, and the Holy Buddhist Relics. The galleries, featuring diverse collections from various eras, provided deep insights into India's rich cultural heritage.
The study tour concluded with students returning to school in the late afternoon, enriched by the knowledge and experiences they gained throughout the day. This excursion provided a unique opportunity to bridge classroom learning with practical insights, fostering a deeper appreciation for both scientific advancements and cultural history. The students left with a renewed enthusiasm for their studies and a broader perspective on the subjects they are learning.
